The Waiting Game!!

I always heard that the last few weeks of pregnancy were the worst and I have to say that I totally agree! The swelling, the fatigue, the waiting, and the unknown is my life all day every day!
I am just ready to see his precious little face and kiss him!

That being said I have done lots of nesting to keep my mind off of things. His room and my house are pretty much complete at this point and I have even put up our christmas decorations, well most of them! Still planning on making our own stockings!

I took some pictures of Koen's nursery to share... Still waiting on the picture of my papa on the horse that will go above his bed! Sorry for the poor quality of photo and black and white. Hubby needs to show me how to use this camera!

The bassinet and nursing station in our room

His room! A little cluttered right now with the swing and stroller. I plan to move them out when he gets here!

The rocking horse. It was his poppies, his daddies, and now his! I love things like this!

Same story on the little rocking chair! It is precious too.

This is a birth wreath made by my sister in law. We will write the details such as time, weight, and length when he is born! It has a scripture on the bottom

Psalm 139; 13 &14 "For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb, I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made."

Last but not least..... My Vera Bradley Diaper Bag!!!!! No it is not her version of the diaper bag it is the "get carried away" bag! It is huge and is already packed for our first adventure! Hubby surprised me with this bag, he knew I had my heart set on it! I love him :)

Yummy Homemade Croutons and Caesar Dressing!

I had almost a whole loaf of pre sliced french bread from the deli that I had not used and let get stale!!! I could not bring myself to throwing it away so decided to make my first batch of homemade croutons. They turned out great and I will probably never buy pre packaged croutons again! These were so much more fresh, warm, and crisp!!! You can also make homemade breadcrumbs out of your old bread by using the same seasonings and a food processor, so do not throw them away it makes me too sad now!

After making the homemade croutons I had to make a homemade caesar dressing to go with them... I honestly just threw a bunch of stuff together and it turned out amazing! I HATE store bought dressing so I am soooo glad I tried this because now I can do something beside ranch all the time!
I posted the recipes under my food page!

I also used the remaining bread to make homemade breadcrumbs and used them to make an easy baked chicken parmesan.....
I just went crazy with old bread last night!

Adventure in the Mountains

I came across these pictures today and HAD to post them! They are from a while back when we took the ATV's out to the mountains and well, had an interesting day! It is always interesting when you get my husband and brother together, to say the least!

Started off great! We looked real cute to!

First, My husband thought he could climb a straight wall..... He could not! Notice who is the first one there risking her life to save her husband!

Then, we decided to really get down and dirty... My thoughts "is this a good idea"?
Uh no, not so much!

It got deeper...

and deeper...

and deeper!!!

But they got it out :)

There was only one thing left to do at this point...
Dive in!

Keep it country!

Ok so I am trying to keep my country side going strong.  This is easy to do when you are married to a good ole country boy like mine! He suggested we do a little coyote hunting  a few  weeks ago and so that is exactly what we did. Although we did not see anything I was super excited to be using my eagle eye trying to scope out a coyote! It was a fun time with my husband, doing something he wanted to do not to mention the good photo op!

Notice the 204 rifle. This is an amazing machine. I can hit the bulls eye from about 100 yards, easy. Yes I am proud I can hit the bulls eye from 100 yards.

2010 Recap

I just wanted to do a little recap of 2010 to get started. Lets see here....

Oh ya, got married! March 19, 2010 Unseasonably warm day in Arkansas! Happiest day of my life.

Started my first garden. Not much to look at but it sure was delicious! My husband and I built the beds out of stone and he said I worked like a man that day. Made me feel so good to see the fruits of my labor when the sprouts started coming up. Gardening is good for the soul. When February hits it is time to start back and we will have lots of fun gardening stuff to talk about .

Went to Coast Rica, did the zip line through the rain forest, and ate some amazing food! Does not get much better than that!

Taught myself how to crochet with the help of a dear friend!

And last but not least, bought my first gun! Yes, I did!  A Ruger 357 Magnum Revolver! Hey this is a country girls blog and yes there will be guns involved.
